New Statewide Group Will Alert UUs About Social Justice Opportunities

In January, 44 people from nine UU congregations met at the UU Society of New Haven to lay the groundwork for an exciting new venture: Connecticut’s first UU Legislative Alert Network. The idea is to harness the strength of multiple congregations to let municipal, state and federal representatives know our concerns. Similar UU groups in 24 states have helped to pass important legislation, providing education, advocacy and support.

Each congregation has been asked to designate one or two members for the initial planning phase—probably three to six months. Could that be you? Do you have organizational skills and imagination!
