We are looking for a few more UUSE members who are interested in learning about how UU "business" gets done at GA by serving as delegates. GA will be held June 18th to 22nd, 2025 in Baltimore and will be in a hybrid format. Delegates are welcome to attend in person but can also serve online. Participation as an online delegate can be at no cost to you. Attendance at all General Sessions is advised but not mandatory. Voting takes place online after General Sessions.     < To Upcoming Services Watch the eBlast for the next scheduled Auction Update! Auction Update! We hope everyone had a great time at the auction! We earned $11,500+ for UUSE. Raffle Baskets The drawing for the raffle baskets will be this Sunday, Feb. 8 after the second service. You don't have to be present to win, and you can still buy tickets to enter on Sunday! Room for More There are a couple items that have room for more participants. You can sign up for them in the lobby on Sunday or you can email auction@uuse.org . Keep On Truckin' What do you need moved? Stan McMillen will move brush, debris, household items (no pianos) from your place to the dump or wherever. You get him for two hours. If your town charges for access to the dump, etc., you will be responsible for those fees. $150. Genealogic Research Want to find out who you are related to? Want to find where your ancestors came from? Larry Lunden will search your family tree on Familysearch.org to see what he can find. Maybe a lot, maybe not so much. Hopefully he can find their names and dates, and records of vital events of their lives. He will send results as he searches. $50. Pair of Tour Passes for the Mark Twain House Get a guided tour of the famous Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford. Two tickets: No expiration date. Not valid on holidays or for specialty tours. $20 per pair. Biscotti Making Join Jennifer Klee at her friend Kathleen's home in Granby to learn the technique and tips for making delicious biscotti. We'll make 2-3 flavors and learn how to dip them. As well as trying a few samples with coffee or tea. We hear this phrase a lot these days, and it serves as an important reminder that finding joy in the midst of turmoil is a powerful form of defiance and protest. There are many avenues to joy, and poetry is one of them. Today, in honor of National Poetry Month, several members of the congregation will share how they find joy and strength in poetry. They have performed across Connecticut and New York City. Conceived and directed by Hartford and NYC voice teacher and performer Eric Larivée. A talented array of LGBTQ+ performers and allies will perform an eclectic mix of material spanning the decades, celebrating queer composers, lyricists, poets, icons and women. New England Pride’s mission is to foster visibility, representation, community and solidarity through performances; creating a safe space for authenticity and ongoing dialogue as well as vital educational outreach to schools, places of worship, and other community arenas. We have so much fun each week, we want you to join us in the laughter, song and community! For more information visit Meetup.
