Women’s Circle Women’s Circle with Nora Alpers-Leon Third Tuesdays at 7:00 Zoom Only December-March Contact alpers6@gmail.com for zoom link Nora describes this women’s circle as a “judgment-free comfort zone.” She invites participants to “sit, connect and share.” Bring a journal and a pen and a cushion or mat to sit on if you prefer that to a chair. Nora Mijares Alpers-Leon is an indigenous (Colombian) mother, developmental psycholinguist and educator, who has a background in dance, yoga, and mindfulness. She completed 2 bachelor and 2 master degrees and a graduate certificate between UW-Madison and UConn. She did her Yoga Teacher Training in the Berkshires, and has led mindfulness workshops and talking circles in the United States and Colombia with both adults and children. Achieved the UUA’s Green Sanctuary Award in 2006. Awarded Green Houses of Worship designation in 2016 by IREJN (Inter-Religious Eco-Justice Network). Sells Equal Exchange Fair Trade coffee, tea and chocolate on the second Sunday of the month. Members actively participate in other environmental groups such as Citizens Climate Lobby and Elders Climate Action. Several Climate Cafes are offered with speakers and films on environmental issues. We would love to invite and include UU friends and families from nearby congregations to celebrate with us on what is sure to be a fun and festive day. The event will host craft workshops, a vendor area, and an ongoing lineup of musicians throughout the day. We invite members from your congregation to reach out if they would like to perform, participate, volunteer, or set up a vendor stall. We’re looking forward to sharing talent, sharing time, making new friends, and making magic this upcoming Yuletide!
