Scheduling Updates for
God Talk, Humanist Group, and Buddhist Group
The Humanist Group will not meet in July but will resume in August on third Tuesdays at 4:30 P.M. God Talk will not meet in July. The Buddhist Group will also not meet in July.

CT UU Social Justice Ministry Informational Meetings
UU congregations across Connecticut (including UUSE) have been working on creating a state-wide UU Social Justice Ministry. Would you like to learn more about this effort? Join one of the following Zoom meetings:
- Thursday, July 17th, 7:30 P.M.
- Monday, July 28th, 12:00 P.M.
Please RSVP here, including if you can't make any of these dates. Organizers will work on finding some additional dates, and it will help them gauge interest.

UUSE "Summer Suppers"
Would you like to be a host?
The Membership Committee wants to keep our seasonal Community suppers going, but we need your help! If you would like to host a "Summer Supper" at your home sometime in late July or August, please contact Sue Myers via email (uuseoffice@uuse.org) or phone 860-646-5151) by July 10 and let her know the date and time for your event and how many guests you can accommodate. She'll send you back a quick questionnaire to gather further details for the sign-up sheet. Hosts are asked to provide a main dish. Guests will bring all the appetizers, sides, desserts, etc. We'll put your sign up sheet in the lobby after Sunday services on July 13 and 20. Questions? Ask Sue Myers or Carole Boster.

Summer Bittersweet Clearing
Saturday, July 12th, 8:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M.
Continuing our long-term project to manage invasive bittersweet, we're going to cut down vines in their prime, before the berries ripen. Join the Building & Grounds Committee for our Summer Invasives Clearing on Saturday, July 12th from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 a.m. We recommend protecting your skin with long sleeves and pants, closed shoes and work gloves. Bring loppers and pruning shears. We'll supply cold beverages. Children and youth with responsible adults are welcome. Contact Cory Clark or Jane Osborn for more information.

To Love Your Neighbor, Know Your Neighbor
Sunday, July 20th, 12:00 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. at UUSE
The last of a 3-part series, here's your opportunity to explore three different religions - the Bahai Faith, Hinduism and Unitarian Universalism. This lively, candid and highly informative question-and-answer forum, is produced by the Connecticut Council for Interreligious Understanding. It will include three panelists from different religions who will answer your questions about what it means to practice their beliefs.

Transylvanian Unitarian History
A message from Ollie Cohen: There is a fascinating article in the July issue of National Geographic Magazine entitled, "Finding Tranquility in Transylvania." Transylvania has an interesting history that you might enjoy. Most importantly, the first Unitarian churches were founded in Transylvania. This history is referenced in the article.
