New Sanctuary Exhibit Starting Thursday, December 4 A new sanctuary exhibit will go up on Thursday, December 4th. There is no specific theme for this show. Choose one of your favorites to share with the congregation. Please register your entries with uuseoffice@uuse.org and include title, medium, price (if for sale) and photo (if you wish to have your submission included in the sanctuary slide show). Poets, please send your poems to Carol for mounting by November 30th. If you want to add a photo or a small piece of art, send it as well. INCOMING WORK: Drop-off is December 12/4/25 from 10:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. (Please note the new times.) If you can't make that window, kindly drop off your entry in Annie's office any time before the deadline. OUTGOING WORK: Pick up your art by the end of the second service on Sunday, November 16th, so that Fair setup can begin. When you pick up your artwork, check your name off the list posted near the entry doors. Artwork not picked up will be in Annie's office. REGISTRATION starts now through Tuesday, 12/2/25. < To Upcoming Services Aug 1, 2026 Greater Hartford U.U.'s at Dunkin Donuts Park On Saturday evening, August 1, 2026 Join the three area UU Societies (Fern Street, USH, and UUSE) at the Liberty Bank Pavilion, Dunkin Donuts Park. It's the picnic package, which will include standard ballpark fare and vegetarian options, free waters and soft drinks, and a chance to meet other UU's in the area. Doors and the picnic open at 4:30 with the game scheduled to start at 6:10 p.m. The picnic will remain open and serving food until about 7 p.m. A firework show follows the game. We are excited that the 3 Societies are exploring how we can work and play together, enjoy our UU values, and celebrate one another. Cost is $50 per person, but if you need help, financial assistance is available. < To Upcoming Services Watch the eBlast for the next scheduled Yuletide Festival Yuletide Festival Saturday, December 6th at USH As we approach the Winter Solstice and the season of holidays and celebrations, the Unitarian Society of Hartford is planning a holiday event--the Yuletide Festival. USH would love to invite and include UU friends and families from nearby congregations to celebrate with them on what is sure to be a fun and festive day. The event will host craft workshops, a vendor area and an ongoing lineup of musicians throughout the day. Members of UUSE are invited to reach out if they would like to perform, participate, volunteer or set up a vendor stall. They are looking forward to sharing talent, sharing time, making new friends, and making magic this coming Yuletide. In Maine, the first official Truth and Reconciliation Commission in the United States begins a historic investigation. Dawnland goes behind-the scenes as this historic body grapples with difficult truths, redefines reconciliation and charts a new course for state and tribal relations. This event is co-sponsored by the Adult Religious Education and Social Justice/Anti-Oppression Committees. All are welcome. Adult themes include family separation, boarding school, adoption and fostering. We will learn from each other. Ms. Taylor will read from Madsi the True and discuss her work Copies of all her books will be available for purchase. Proceeds will go to UUSE.
