This year, the Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford at 155 Wyllys Street in Hartford is hosting the Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day that serves to raise public awareness of the hate crimes against transgender people and the suicidality that such hate can incite. MCC Hartford is also commemorating the 5th anniversary of TV-365 (Trans Voice and Visibility 365 days a year). The theme for this year's event is "Courage and Strength to Be" and will feature a candlelight vigil, speakers, music and a reception. Please arrive early as seating is limited or join via Zoom: Contact the Office for Zoom Link. The Membership Committee is once again organizing Springtime Community Suppers! But we need your help. If you would like to host a "Community Supper" at your home sometime during the merry month of May, please contact Sue Myers via email at uuseoffice@uuse.org or phone 860-646-5151 by April 15 and let her know the date and time you would like to host and how many guests. She'll send you back a quick questionnaire to gather further details for the sign-up sheet. Hosts are asked to provide a main dish. Guests will bring the appetizers, sides, desserts, etc. We'll put sign-up sheets in the lobby after each service on April 20 and 27. Questions? In this service for all ages, we'll explore some of the components of trust as it relates to developing and maintaining relationships. Telling the truth and doing the right thing isn't always easy, especially when we've made mistakes, and we fear the consequences. However difficult it is, doing our best to be people worthy of others' faith and trust is important life-long work. Feel free to bring a side or dessert to share! Enjoy food, fun and good conversation! We'll have a bounce house, too, for the kids! Come for the party and stay for the concert at 3:00 PM! Questions?
