Bike & Bloom

We’re excited to announce that UUSE was recently awarded an American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant by the Town of Manchester for promoting sustainability, resiliency, and equity in the community. The grant will fund “Bike & Bloom: A Cycle-friendly Habitat for Pollinators and People,” which will include the installation of bike rack and native plant pollinator garden. Members of the Sustainable Living Committee and Building & Grounds Committee will work together to install the project, and we hope you will enjoy this addition to the church grounds! The bike rack will provide a convenient and secure place for church members and visitors to park their bicycles while also supporting the usage of alternative forms of transportation. The pollinator garden will complement existing plantings on the grounds to attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, which play an important role in our ecosystem. We look forward to promoting bicycling and pollinators at UUSE with these new projects! If you would like to get involved with the bike project, contact Cory Clark at uuseoffice@uuse.org. If you would like to get involved with the pollinator garden, contact Mary Lawrence at uuseoffice@uuse.org.
